Vastu Consultant in New York City

Vastu consultation for homes in New York City

Most homes in New York City are apartments, often compact and stacked in tall buildings, so layout choices are limited and every room has to work hard. Dr. Riddhe Sshilpi reviews your plan and photographs online and suggests practical Vastu adjustments that fit a city flat, a rented unit or a small business.

How your plan is read, step by step

A consultation starts with the plan of your home or workplace. Dr. Riddhe marks where the entrance faces, which rooms sit in which zones, and how the five elements are distributed across the space. She also asks how the household really lives, such as who works from home and where the family eats.

Suggestions begin with simple changes that cost little: moving a desk, rethinking how a bedroom is used, or clearing one crowded corner. Structural work is raised only when a layout plainly calls for it, and renters are advised only on what a lease allows.

Apartments, brownstones and the tilted Manhattan grid

Manhattan's street grid is rotated roughly thirty degrees from true north, so a building's front may not face the direction you assume from a map. A compass reading taken at your own door settles this. Pre-war co-ops, glass condo towers, Brooklyn brownstones, Queens two-family houses and Staten Island homes each pose different questions about light and entrances.

Many Indian-origin households here rent in Jersey City-side towers, Flushing, Jackson Heights or Long Island suburbs, and the advice adapts to each. Calls are fixed around Eastern Time, which sits nine and a half hours behind India in summer and ten and a half in winter. The consultation is entirely online.

Working within shared walls and radiators

Radiators, shared walls, elevators and doormen mean many New Yorkers cannot alter much of their building. Dr. Riddhe therefore concentrates on furniture, use of rooms and small arrangements inside the apartment rather than anything involving the structure.
