Vastu consultation for buildings in Wokha

Wokha is the district headquarters of the Lotha Naga homeland, a hill town set below Mount Tiyi with the Doyang river running through its district. Dr. Riddhe Sshilpi looks at Wokha buildings remotely, starting from a plan and the compass bearing at the main door, and presents Vastu only as an optional way of seeing a space.

What a Vastu reading looks at in Wokha

Vastu connects a building's directions with the way its rooms are used. A review may note where the entrance opens, how the kitchen and sleeping rooms are arranged, and where a shopkeeper or officer sits. These observations are suggestions only, and you decide which, if any, to adopt.

Dr. Riddhe usually proposes light adjustments first: swapping the use of two rooms, repositioning a desk or bed, clearing a cluttered corner. She does not open with demolition or large rebuilding. No outcome can be promised, and the purpose is simply a house or workplace that feels better organised.

Terraced plots below Mount Tiyi

Most Wokha buildings are RCC or timber-and-tin structures on cut terraces, with verandas towards the valley, small plots and steep steps from the lane. Government offices, schools, a college and the district hospital form the town's institutional core, while shops, hardware stores and small eateries line the main road.

Owners tend to ask about a front door facing a drop, a kitchen at the rear of a terrace, or how to arrange a new guest room for visitors to the Tokhü Emong season. Many families also hold orchards and fields in nearby villages, so questions may reach beyond the town house. Everything proceeds through photographs and a video call.

Road slips, retaining walls and tremors

Wokha's hills see heavy monsoon rain, and the road network can be interrupted by slips. Reliable drainage, firm retaining walls and earthquake-aware construction come before any directional ideas, which Dr. Riddhe layers on gently afterwards.
