Vastu consultation for properties in Dharamshala
Dharamshala stretches from the lower town and Kotwali Bazaar up to McLeod Ganj and the forested slopes below the Dhauladhar range, so no two sites share the same slope or view. Dr. Riddhe Sshilpi reviews properties here online, reading your plan, the terrain and a compass reading at the door together.
Tiered hill houses: entry level, slope and compass
A Vastu review compares a building with the directions, noting where the entrance, kitchen, bedrooms and stores sit and whether that arrangement suits the people using it. Here the mountain, the road and the view often constrain the layout more than any ideal rule would.
Dr. Riddhe therefore takes the plan together with photographs of the approach and the slope. Her advice starts with small, reversible steps such as changing how a room is used or where furniture stands, and structural change is not the opening suggestion. Nothing is presented as a promise of outcome.
Tiered homes and guest houses on the slopes
Dharamshala's properties are an unusual mix. Government quarters and family houses in the lower town and around Kotwali Bazaar, concrete homes stacked up the hillside towards Upper Dharamshala, guest houses and cafes around McLeod Ganj and Bhagsu, and quieter homes at Naddi and Sidhpur. Many are built in tiers, with the entrance at a different level from the main rooms.
That raises practical questions: which door counts as the main one, how a guest floor relates to the owner's flat, and where a kitchen can sit when the slope fixes the plan. Whatever the property, the online process stays the same: a drawing, photographs from different sides, a compass reading and a video call.
Safe structure, drainage and retaining walls come first
Dharamshala is among the wettest parts of Himachal and sits in a high seismic zone, so drainage, retaining walls and safe structure matter before anything else. Dr. Riddhe keeps those constraints in view and never suggests alterations that would compromise safety.
Other consultations for Dharamshala clients
Residential Vastu Consultation
Flats, bungalows and row houses, for owners who are buying, moving in or living with a layout that does not feel right. The review covers the entrance, kitchen, bedrooms, the centre of the home and how each room is used, and recommendations start with placement, colour and use of rooms rather than demolition.
Commercial Vastu Consultation
Offices, shops, showrooms, clinics, factories and warehouses. The consultation looks at the entrance, seating and working areas, storage and, for industrial sites, the plot and production flow, often together with the owner’s architect or plant engineer.

Prepare a sketch or drawing marking the slope, road side and each room, photographs of the building from above and below, and a compass reading taken at the main entrance facing outward. Dr. Riddhe studies these first, then walks through with you on video. A visit for a larger project can be discussed.

Dharamshala Vastu questions
Can a guest house near McLeod Ganj be reviewed without a site visit?
In most cases yes. A plan, photographs of each floor and the approach, a door compass reading and a video walkthrough allow a proper review. A visit can be discussed for a larger build.
My Dharamshala house has its entrance on an upper floor. How is that read?
Dr. Riddhe notes the level you enter from and how the floors fall below it, then reads the plan accordingly. Send photographs from the road and from the lower side so the stack is clear.
Does the advice account for earthquakes and rain in Dharamshala?
Yes. Safety and drainage come first. Suggestions focus on room use, furniture and non-structural changes, and nothing is proposed that would weaken walls, slopes or foundations.
Can a cafe or shop in Dharamshala be reviewed too?
Yes. For commercial spaces the focus is on the entrance, counter, kitchen and where the owner sits. Send the plan, photographs and a compass reading taken at the shopfront.
