Family constellation for people in Kolkata
Many families in Kolkata carry long, layered histories of joint households, migrations, shared businesses and unspoken tensions. Dr. Riddhe Sshilpi holds one-to-one family constellation sessions online. You place small objects on a table to stand for relatives, and together you look at who feels close, distant or left out.

Noticing what an arrangement suggests
Each object represents a person, including yourself. You arrange them to match how the relationships feel, and Dr. Riddhe studies the layout with you, asks gentle questions and proposes small movements, so you can see how a different arrangement might feel. Relatives do not need to attend. The pace stays slow, and you may pause at any point.
Family constellation is not therapy, medical treatment or crisis support. If you are struggling, please first speak with a doctor or counsellor. This is a reflective exercise that can sit alongside other support, and it should never replace it. Nothing is shared with anyone else.

Session formats
How family constellation sessions are offered
One-to-one, online
Just you and Dr. Riddhe on video, with everyday objects representing family members.
Group sessions in person
Other participants stand in for family members. Held in person in Mumbai.
No family attendance needed
You attend on your own; the family system is represented in the session.
Reflective, not therapy
It does not diagnose or treat; it can sit alongside professional support.
Joint households, inheritance and festival tensions in Kolkata
Bengali family life has its own textures. Joint families in old North Kolkata houses, sibling and cousin groups sharing property, elders with strong views, and the pull between staying close to a parent and building a career elsewhere are themes that often come up. Others involve families who moved from other districts or from across the border generations ago.
A one-to-one online session lets you speak openly without the rest of the household listening in, which is difficult in a crowded flat or an old shared house. You need a table, a camera angle that shows it, and about ten small objects. Group sessions are held in person in Mumbai only.
Puja gatherings and old feelings
Festivals such as Durga Puja bring whole families together, and also stir up old feelings about who belongs where. Many people find these gatherings a good moment to notice what they wish to look at more carefully.

Questions & answers
Family constellation questions, Kolkata
Have a different question? Ask Dr. Riddhe’s team. There is no obligation to book.
Do my cousins in the ancestral Kolkata house need to know about my session?
No. You attend alone, and objects represent your cousins and others. This keeps the session private and avoids adding pressure in a household where feelings may already be sensitive.
Can family constellation help with sibling conflict over inheritance?
It can help you see your own position and feelings. It cannot decide how property is divided, which needs legal advice and, ideally, an honest conversation between family members.
I live abroad but my family is in Kolkata. Can I join?
Yes. Sessions are online, and only you need to attend. Tell us your time zone while booking so that a suitable slot can be arranged.
Is a group constellation available in Kolkata?
Group sessions are held in person in Mumbai only. For Kolkata, one-to-one online sessions are the format offered, and they suit those who prefer a private setting.
