Vastu consultation for Patan properties
Patan was once the Solanki capital, and its streets still mix medieval memory with ordinary modern life. Dr. Riddhe Sshilpi reviews properties here online, beginning with a plan and a compass reading at the door, and adapts her comments to how your rooms are used by the people who live and work in them.
Matching the layout to a family or business
A Vastu review asks how a building sits against the directions, where its entrance, kitchen, bedrooms and storage fall, and whether that arrangement suits the family or business inside. It works through careful reading of the layout and carries no promise about what the future holds.
Dr. Riddhe prefers to try the least disruptive options first. A cot might be turned, a worktable moved, or a counter reoriented. Opening up walls is not an opening move, and any larger idea is explained with its reasoning so that you can weigh it at your own pace, with your family or contractor.
Pol houses, new societies and workshops in Patan
Patan's older quarters are made up of pols, clusters of narrow lanes with houses packed side by side, often with carved timber fronts, internal courtyards and little room to reorganise. Beyond them lie newer societies and bungalows towards the highway, built on regular plots where the direction of the gate is the first thing people ask.
Commercial premises are equally varied. The town is famed for Patola weaving, and family workshops with looms, dye rooms and display areas have special layout questions. Shops in the market lanes, offices for the region's cumin, castor and mustard trade, and clinics also come up. Online, the steps remain the same: sketch, compass reading, photographs and a video call.
Courtyards, thick walls and the dry northern plain
Patan stands on the plain of the Saraswati river in dry north Gujarat, with fierce summers and cool winters. Dr. Riddhe factors in courtyards, thick walls and high ceilings in older houses when advising, so suggestions suit the climate and the structure.

Residential Vastu Consultation
Flats, bungalows and row houses, for owners who are buying, moving in or living with a layout that does not feel right. The review covers the entrance, kitchen, bedrooms, the centre of the home and how each room is used, and recommendations start with placement, colour and use of rooms rather than demolition.
Commercial Vastu Consultation
Offices, shops, showrooms, clinics, factories and warehouses. The consultation looks at the entrance, seating and working areas, storage and, for industrial sites, the plot and production flow, often together with the owner’s architect or plant engineer.

Vastu questions from Patan
Is a narrow pol house in Patan too cramped for a Vastu review?
No. Pol houses are common and can be studied well from a plan and photographs. Suggestions stay modest, such as room use and furniture, since there is rarely space to alter the structure.
Does a Patola weaving workshop need different thinking?
The questions differ: where looms stand, where dyeing and drying happen, where stock and the owner's seat fall. Send a sketch with the work areas marked and photographs of the floor.
How do I find the entrance direction in a courtyard house?
Stand at the outer front door facing out, hold a compass flat, away from metal gates, and photograph the reading. If an inner courtyard door also matters, take a second reading there and label it.
Will an old carved house have to be altered under Vastu?
No. Heritage-style houses are approached with care. Non-destructive adjustments come first, and structural change is mentioned only where there is a considered reason, never as an expectation.
